My Review of Mary Macleod’s Shortbread Cookies:

I know it’s a hard job eating amazing things so when I was presented with the idea of trying shortbread cookies and their butterscotch bars, I jumped *make that* devoured the opportunity to do so.

Here’s my take:

First of all, presentation is EVERYTHING when trying new things. The cookies were in a clear, decorative container. They contained their most popular flavours including: Maple Crunch,  Chocolate Crunch, Dutch Chocolate and Traditional. Each bite was flavourful, buttery and melt in your mouth deliciousness. I thought the cookies had good texture and it was flaky where it needed to be. I’ve tried shortbread cookies in the past and these were definitely at the top of the list. The Maple Crunch was a big hit for my husband who loves all things Canadian inspired! 🙂

My favourite was the Dutch Chocolate – you could really taste the high quality cocoa that was used. I also really enjoyed the simplicity and smoothness of the Traditional cookie. My kids ate all the Chocolate Crunch cookies in one sitting. They really loved it!

We also had the distinct pleasure of trying the Butterscotch Bars – they are butterscotch pieces mixed with their traditional shortbread. I found them to be a perfect blend  – not too sweet and very chewy. I didn’t want to share these! 🙂
